Thoughts: I’ve watched this funny anime series multiple times (more than 3 times) and every time I get back to it I always find hilarious moments in each episode. In terms of funny anime humor, Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou is slap stick comedy combined with humorous daily activities normal High School Students go through each day. What makes this a great, super funny anime is the writing. For a comedy script it packs a punch and keeps your attention grasped until the end of the episode. As of now there is only 1 season, but I can see this show coming back and being a smash hit with just about anyone that is looking to have a ton of laughs while reminiscing about your school days. Make sure you watch this super funny anime, Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou!

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!

Konosuba slimy

Thoughts: KonoSuba is a great on going funny anime that you can watch right now on multiple streaming services.
What makes Konosuba special, and a top funny anime, is the main character, Kazuma. He is not your ordinary Protagonist in a sense that before his adventures he was a reclusive “Otaku” that died and was reborn in a new world to kill the demon lord.

In his Journey he brought with him a goddess, Aqua. To his surprise she is less like a goddess and more like a spoiled brat that doesn’t know how to live outside of the heavenly grounds. He is a smart, witty character that knows his weakness and uses his head to accomplish his mission. He is very self aware and is not afraid to make fun of anyone, be it men or woman. I can go on and on about the story, but the point is it’s a witty show that makes fun of the hero tropes found in other anime shows. It’s one of my personal favorite funny anime and I highly recommend you check it out for yourself!

Seitokai Yakuindomo

Episodes: 1- 26

Season 1: July 4, 2010September 26, 2010

Season 2:January 4, 2014March 29, 2014

Funny anime moment on seitokai Uakuindomo

Takatoshi Tsuda attends Ōsai Academy, a high school that, due to declining birth rates, is converted from an all-girl school to a co-ed school (with a male-to-female ratio of 28:524). On his first day, he is forcibly recruited into the student council as the vice-president and sole male representative. The story follows Tsuda and the student council as they interact with each other and their schoolmates.

Thoughts: Seitokai Yakuindomo is on the list for being one of the all star funny anime of recent memory. The premise of following high school students through their daily lives has been told numerous times. It’s the bizarre, and fun interactions characters have with each other that make the show unique and a top funny anime! I don’t want to spoil too much of the fun, but I will say that the conversations tend to drift into tons of Erotic themes and sexual innuendo (no worries, no sexual scenes in the show, it’s all just funny anime talk).
The writing is top notch and each joke is unique and well thought out. I found myself laughing a couple of times per episode!
Did I say how cute the main heroines are ? They are cute on the surface, but let out dirty thoughts more often than not. It’s a bizarre, wildly funny anime, I’ll say one of the best funny anime in recent memory!

Tonari no Seki-Kun

Aired: January – May 2014

The original manga revolves around a girl named Yokoi who sits next to a boy only known as Seki-kun. During class, Seki-kun continues to not pay attention and instead creates amazing little distractions, such as a detailed golf course with the course’s hole being a dent in his desk, or an entire dramatic war being played out by paper shogi pieces. Yokoi often finds herself getting reluctantly interested in his games, even though they always seem to end up getting HER in trouble with the teacher!

Thoughts: Tonari no Seki-Kun is a funny anime short released a while back. Each episode is about 5 minutes long. This might seem like a weak point, but it’s actually the shows best asset and what makes it a top funny anime as it brings one joke and is able to focus on the premise for the entire episode. The interesting concept behind Tonari no Seki-Kun is that characters don’t talk, but we get to hear what they are thinking and the reactions the main female character makes every time her class mate (Seki-Kun) is doing something totally out of line while still in the classroom. It’s a great show when you are on a train or waiting in line for didins. This funny anime is definitely worth checking out if you want a quick laugh.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K

Episodes : 120
Aired : July 4, 2016 – December 26, 2016

The Disastrous Life of Saiki screenshot

Kusuo Saiki is a high school student who was born with all manner of psychic abilities, including telepathy, psychokinesis, teleportation, and more. Despite having all these powers, Saiki faces all kinds of hardships and tries to avoid attention as much as possible. The story follows Saiki as he attempts to secretly use his powers to live a normal high school life while dealing with his less than ordinary classmates at P.K. Academy.

Thoughts: Here is another funny anime short that has quick short episodes , but has over 90 of them!
One of the first funny anime shorts to be put on Netflix with episodes compiled to make one normal 30 minute length episode. Each episode is loosely connected so I recommend watching this funny anime from start to finish. The magic of Saiki K is in the fact that the main character has the powers to do whatever he wants. He can even change the fabric of reality if he wishes, but all he wants is to live a peaceful and quite life.
Quite a fun set of characters surround him, so it’s a very colorful show and an overall great funny anime to see!

That’s it for our top 5 funny anime! If we missed some of your favourite funny anime, do let us know!
